Now available! The Scent of Spring, Elegies Out of Season

The Scent of Spring - Elegies Out of SeasonKaren’s latest collection powerfully captures the turbulence of contemporary life, its individual crises and global disasters.

As a reviewer notes, “Karen Muhallen has wisely chosen the elegy as the keenest instrument to bear witness to our disappearing world.” With a unique style of documentary and witness poetry, she “moves through various cities and geographies narrating elegies of loss, of cultural murder”.

The Scent of Spring, Elegies Out of Season is available through Amazon and the publisher, The Black Spring Press Group (UK).

Watch Karen reading from the collection. Stay tuned for the book launch in Toronto!

untethered at the Supermarket: June 15, 2022

Karen MulhallenThe wonderful untethered magazine is holding a live launch reading at Supermarket in Kensington Market from 7-10 PM on Wednesday June 15 and Karen will be reading. It will be a big event—masks please—and untethered‘s first live launch in two years.

Supermarket is a wonderful venue with excellent food.

There is a big line up! Poets are each given 5 minutes which will be a challenge, but there is nothing like hearing folks read their own work.

The event will also be a fund raiser for untethered. There will be lots of books and magazines and the like for sale as well as prizes and a lottery.

Would love to see you all there. Come early if you can! Eat, drink and be merry!
